Vegan Celebrities – Part Two!

Vegan Athletes and Bodyuilders

Plenty of athletes are vegan too, quite clearly debunking the myth that we’re all ill, anaemic,  have no energy, and are going to die.  Fiona Oaks, ex-Olympian, is a great example of using plant-based nutrition to achieve a healthy active body and brilliant athletic performance.
Brendan Brazier, the iron-man triathlete, is another fine advocate of veganism, with several nutritional products on the market to assist vegans in their quest for healthier living.  Ultra Marathon superstar Scott Jurek writes about his veganism and training on his blog; pay attention, he’s won the 246km Spartathlon in Greece twice!

It’s not just the endurance events that suit vegan athletes.  How about UFC contended Luke Cummo! You may be a little scared bumping into him in a dark alley, but hey, he’d probably just buy you a tofu-burger and a vegan beer.

She attracted more press than the race winner, and quite rightly so.  She’s now an actress and writer.

A couple of other, somewhat unlikely, candidates as vegans are Pamela Anderson and Mike Tyson (there is an obvious joke about ears in here somewhere…). Now added to the list are some of the so-called ‘Power Vegans’ such as Bill Clinton and Steve Wynn (also being called Hegans).

Paediatrician Advocates Veganism

And finally, when people tell you it’s cruel or harmful to raise your child vegan, look them in the eye and remind them that that paragon of paediatric care, Dr Benjamin Spock, was a dedicated vegan.  Now, send me some more famous vegans to add to the list!
